Hello all! I took a mini break this summer. The climate in LA has been dark, and not in a fun way. I didn’t feel good about posting my usual content with POCs being abducted in broad daylight.
I am fully aware that this is still going on and there is no end in sight, so I had a think on it. Where does my contribution fit into this crazy world we find ourselves? I decided to not stop doing things that bring me joy. What brings me joy is making content for you guys. I like that I present size, age and budget inclusive outfits. I want you all to love yourselves as you are right this second. No, “Let me lose some weight, and I’ll buy that dress.” or “If I was only a bit younger, I’d wear that.” None of that negative self-talk here!
Now, I know that the world is on fire, and I donate to worthy causes, vote in every election, speak out against injustices. I stay aware of current events and always, always, bear in mind how I can help out. I’m not powerful. I’m a 57, almost 58 year old plus size lady on a tight budget with arthritis, but I also know how it feels to not feel like you belong. Like you aren’t needed. You are all needed now.
The part I play is right here. Making content to encourage all of you, regardless of age, size, gender identification, skin color and financial means, to express yourselves with your clothes. Clothes are art. Art that doesn’t hang in a museum, but goes out into the world for all to see. This exhibit doesn’t end. This exhibit does evolve because you live your life in the art. So, let’s get back to it. The spooky season calls… Onward!
